Histrelin subcutaneous implants utilize a unique pharmaceutical delivery system which continuously releases histrelin acetate into the body over the course of a year.  The implant is a small, thin, flexible tube approximately 3.5 cm in length and 3 mm in diameter.  It is made from the same material as soft contact lenses and inserted by a physician or surgeon in a simple procedure.
